How this list is made

Each night the site compares the records it publishes with everything it has seen before, and lists what is new: a campaign finance report (DR-2) it has never seen, a report that replaces an earlier one for the same period, a public poll (a race's first one included), a poll whose figures changed, each Secretary of State daily absentee report, and changes to the Secretary of State's candidate list. A night where a source could not be read, or was read only in part, adds nothing for that source; the next good night catches up, including every absentee report published meanwhile.

Each item leads with the publisher's own date (when the report was filed, the date on the Secretary of State's report, when a poll's field work ended); the heading of each night is the night our nightly run found it. Every item is checked against a saved copy of what that night's run read; if that copy is ever missing, the item is held back rather than shown unchecked.

Money figures are what each committee reported on its DR-2 summary for the period named, in the committee pages' columns ("raised" is cash contributions, Schedule A; in-kind gifts are their own column). They are not the donor-by-donor itemized data. Only committees this site tracks are included. A blank figure was not read from the report; it is not a zero.

Absentee counts are ballots (mail and in-person early) returned to county auditors, not counted votes. A poll is one poll; a lead is stated only for an average of two or more. Party in the candidate list is the party the Secretary of State lists.
